This historical building was built by Daniel
LeVan circa 1740 and was originally LeVan's Inn located on
the heavily traveled "Great Road", a stop between
Boston and Philadelphia. The vast amount of travelers that
stayed at the Inn led to its expansion on the western side
of the building in 1765. Stories have been told of a resident
ghost named Susannah, the daughter of the original owner.
The inn remained in the LeVan-Kemp family until 1990 when
it was then established as Whispering Springs. With rennovations
completed by owners Kevin Mailander and George Magditch, and
decorator Lori Caffrey, this building has successfully been
restored to the warmth and charm that brought many travelers
to its door step for over 200 years.
We look forward to serving you, our treasured
guests, who continue the tradition of dining at this historic
site.
